Summary/Abstract: In an effort to monitor and counter disinformation narratives about the EGD, IRI launched an initiative called the “European Green Deal: Mapping perceptions in Central and Eastern Europe,” in which six partner organizations studied how the EGD is perceived in Bulgaria, Czechia, Poland, Romania, and Slovakia. As one of the partner organizations, the EUROPEUM Institute for European Policy analyzed narratives spread about the Green Deal and the EU’s green policies through Czech chain emails as well as through selected mainstream media and websites known for spreading disinformation. The main aim of this research project was to gain insights into how the EGD is communicated in the online space and what narratives are most commonly spread through the selected channels, in an effort to improve communication strategies regarding the EU’s green issues.
