Summary/Abstract: The European Union (EU) needs urgent solutions to overcome the current economic stagnation. Although the level of gross domestic product (GDP) and consumption remained within the framework of 2007, the level of investments meanwhile fell by 15 percent. Bad economic conditions in many EU countries, high level of public debt, high level of unemployment, further worsened the image in the eyes of potential investors whose new capital and knowledge are lacking in the European economy.
