Summary/Abstract: The post-Cold War balance has been shifted, and it’s clear that the main focus of Western caution is no longer on Russia. Instead, we see a shift in allegiances as Sino-Russian bilateral relations intensify in amicability and loyalty. Putin and Jinping maintain a cordial international discourse and refrain to criticize each other or their respective countries. It has become noticeable to the international community that both countries have come to a sort of agreement: while they may not overtly partake in grand gestures of support to each other, they certainly don’t mean to hinder the other’s expansionism and regional political agendas. Both the EU and the US remain rather passively on the side-lines, unable to insert themselves in the Eastern dialogue on the division of power. Especially in the past couple of years, it’s become increasingly clear that with an increase in power, China has also increased its potential to become a serious global security threat.
