Summary/Abstract: A decade of armed conflicts, isolation, economic turmoil, instability, influx of refugees and displaced persons have seriously damaged the living standards of the vast majority of the population of the FRY. Poverty in Serbia has increased drastically in the last ten years. It has increased due to the sharp drop in GDP over the last ten years, due to poor economic performance, reduction in real wages, and as a result of social exclusion, lack of access to public services, opportunities, markets, etc. It was noted that the level of poverty increased even more with the influx of around 600,000 refugees and displaced persons. They are particularly vulnerable, for various reasons, there are problems with employment and housing, with the availability of public services, problems in exercising their rights, etc.
