Summary/Abstract: At the end of August 2009, Serbia adopted the Law on Social Housing, an important but long-overdue initial step toward building a modern social housing system. The next crucial task is developing a National Strategy for Social Housing, with its success largely depending on both the process and content, especially the inclusion of civil society organizations. This issue of the bulletin highlights the new law, the importance of inclusive policymaking, stories from vulnerable groups, and presents Vienna's successful housing policy as a potential model for Serbia.
