Summary/Abstract: Family violence is prescribed as a criminal offense in Article 222 of the Criminal Code of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in 2003 and is punishable as such. According to the Istanbul Convention, which BiH signed and ratified in 2014, and the Law on Protection from Domestic Violence of the Federation of BiH from 2013, economic violence against women is recognized as a form of gender-based violence and domestic violence.
