Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the issue of small kitchens and the practices of using them. On the basis of semi-structured interviews, the author describes laboratory kitchens in respect of cultural functions of this part of home. The analysis investigates how with certain space limitations kitchens fulfil their functions due to equipment, space arrangement solutions as well as strategies and tactics of using them.
