Summary/Abstract: In search of new sources for economic growth in the summer of 2013 the European Union (EU) and United States initiated negotiations on a comprehensive agreement that is expected to increase trade and investment by realizing the untapped potential of the transatlantic market. The Transatlantic Partnership Agreement for trade and investment aims to generate economic growth and job creation by ensuring improved access to markets on both sides of the Atlantic, achieving EU-US regulatory compatibility and paving the way for new mutually recognized standards.
