Summary/Abstract: The authors of the works included in this volume reflect on the challenges of historical literature in the Anthropocene era, i.e. the transformation of the Earth's ecosystem and physiological and biological changes caused and intensified by human activity. Taking these factors into account forces us to rethink our relationship to nature, time and space. The presented volume builds a Franco-Polish dialogue, hence the presence of parallel articles by Fernand Braudel and Marian Małowist, Nathan Wachtel and Michał Tymowski, as well as Patrick Boucheron / Paul Gradvol and Ewa Domańska. The French authors of the selection decided to include in the publication the texts of Polish colleagues, thus emphasizing their participation in the assimilation of a global approach to history, and also wishing to recall that Polish historians, often maintaining inspiring contacts with their French colleagues, were able to develop exceptionally original analyzes. The book proposed to readers is a continuation of the 2014 "Meetings with the world. Essays on global history". The previous volume looked at the factors underlying North American research that challenged earlier traditional views.
