Summary/Abstract: The article presents the problems of aesthetics undertaken by the Warsaw bookkeeper Jakub Mortkowicz, both in terms of publishing choices and attachment to the aesthetic education of Poles. Parallels and links with the European and Polish art world in the light of the edited poetry volumes are important, but so is the patronage given by Mortkowicz to poets and how he promotes Polish poetry. His visible editorial decisions are important as well as his less obvious attachments to visual and literary symbolism and his various connections with Polish poets of the interwar period.
