Summary/Abstract: The article is an attempt to show the modern trends of the publishing house of Jakub Mortkowicz in creating a book for children. The innovative concept of the book had its source in the pedagogical refl ection of Janina Mortkowiczowa, which grew out of pedagogical tendencies from the early twentieth century. The author of the article shows that the cooperation of Mortkowicz’s publishing house with Jan Brzechwa and Franciszka and Stefan Themerson was aimed at the implementation of the most important publishing mission − creating a welldesigned children’s book.
