Summary/Abstract: Turkish and Japanese time (temporal) expressions have been argued particularly in terms of tense, aspect and aktionsart in literature. However, the temporal property of predicative nouns and predicative adjectives has been an ambiguous issue in previous studies and cannot be clarified with tense, aspect and modality. This study aims to analyze Turkish and Japanese predicative nouns/adjectives and so-called passive clauses comparatively using a new approach in Turkish literature known as “Temporal Stability”.
