Summary/Abstract: The paper deals with expression of causal relations in Russian and Czech languages in contemporary newspapers. Examples of causal relations were taken from Russian newspapers Metro Санкт-Петербург and Деловой Петербург. There were used Czech equivalent newspapers Metro and Hospodářské noviny for comparison. The core of the paper consisted in analysis of dependent expressions.
