Summary/Abstract: In this article we propose to analyse the economic theory and the environment.The relationship established between these two aspects is also studied.Traditionally, the economic theory has not considered the environment, because it hasalways percaived the environment as a factor of unlimited production. However, practiceshows that this is not true, and that limiting it makes it very vulnerable.The function of the economic theory is to look for the c onnections that occur withdevelopment as an element able to avoid the depletion of the biophysical, cultural andnatural heritage.
