Summary/Abstract: The physically disabled students are a growing academic community, though in view of the social needs, and professional requirements of the contemporary world they are not very numerous in relation to all students. A mobility dysfunction also creates additional barriers to the educational process that provides opportunities for a further and effective development in the social and occupational life. Students with mobility disabilities have the need not only to accomplish the didactic process, they also increasingly emphasize the need to participate socially in the academic world, to integrate with the regular course of social life that shows no signs of stigmatization and exclusion from the efficient members of society. This paper presents the results of a pilot study on students with mobility disabilities at the University of Lodz, which aimed at exploring the needs and expectations on social participation, with regard to the possibilities of their implementation.
