Summary/Abstract: This scientific report is dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the air fights in the sky of Bulgaria in 1943. It is a reflection of the "symbolic war" announced by Bulgaria in 1941 to the Allies (Great Britain and USA). Only two years later that symbolic war becomes real, destructive and murderous. It began in 1943 with the organization and conduct of the allied offensive air operation against Bulgaria, which was accomplished in two stages. The first began on 14.11.1943 and ended on 20.12.1943. The second began on 04.01.1944 and ended on 17.04.1944. The Anglo-American air raid on December 20, which is the subject of this study, finalizes the air offensive, launched against Bulgaria in 1943. The main purpose of this report is to analyze the actions of the Bulgarian Air Force and Allied Aviation on this combat day, and on this basis to draw conclusions on the effectiveness of the fights for both participating groups.
