Summary/Abstract: The Bulgarian Military Police (MP) Service shall protect the public order. To carry out this function MP have the powers and authorities to use physical force and auxiliary means. When this power is performed by MP bodies, some basic Human Rights could be derogated. This is very sensitive area and MP servicemen shall be educated and trained, so that MP should use physical force only when this is absolutely necessary. The use of physical force and auxiliary means shall stop immediately after it has achieved its lawful aim. This function and description of auxiliary means is regulated in the Military Police Act.
