Summary/Abstract: A source not unimportant to the history of the Jews in the Middle Ages are the responses and the decisoric works of the Jewish scholars. It is true that the historical moment in the treatment of the historical substance takes a back seat, because both the questioner and the spender of the ans-wer are concerned with the decision of the ritual law, but the historical core is all the more diffe-rent from the treated law topic.
