Summary/Abstract: The paper studies the question of more prominent development of cities in Bosnia. If the data from register cadastral tahrir-defters is analyzed, a very strong influence of tekkes in the inception of certain cities is noticed.In register defters we can notice how tekkes are almost always mentioned when it comes to the inception of a certain city. Register defters of Bosnian sanjak present many information about the urbanization process inthis sanjak with the help of sanjak-beys and prominent persons of thestate. This paper gives data from defters on tekkes in Sarajevo, Novi Pazar,Rogatica, Visoko, Zenica, Jajce and Banja Luka.
