Summary/Abstract: This research aims at formulating why and how world citizenship could be introduced in the educational context in Bulgaria through a Bulgarian-Canadian dialogue. What is presented is the case of Sofia University, Faculty of Classical and Modern Languages. The research foundation has been laid on seven axes, which formulate the vision about grounding foreign language learning in the context of teaching/learning intercultural communication, interwoven with developing citizenship awareness, through mastering more than one foreign language (English and French). This approach uses the means of applying technologies and Internet in foreign language learning. New educational practices, based on joint projects with Canadian institutions are suggested.
