Summary/Abstract: The following article presents the actual condition of the Bulgarian anthroponomyms, which has been observed through the prism of the situation in the biggest citi in Bulgaria – Sofia. The research shows the anthroponomical picture during the years 1929–1979, 2007–2010. The dissemination and fashion of personal names have been analyzed – in linguoculturological, ethnolinguistic and purely linguistic aspects. Both the intra- and extralinguistic factors, which have influence over the Bulgarian anthroponomical system, have been accounted. But only time will show us if due to this project the appearance of our system of first names and its traditional nature will be preserved.
