During his time and with his huge help, more than 15 secular schools were opened across Bulgaria in its current boundaries. The article also studies the introduction and use of the Lancastrian method of mutual assistance in education, applied by Neofit Rilski in Gabrovo secular school, as makes a comprehensive review of „Bulgarian Grammar” written by Neofit Rilski (published in 1835 by Moustakov brothers), which was fundamental for the revival and development of the literary modern Bulgarian language.
