Summary/Abstract: The study examines the transformation of employment and unemployment in Bulgaria regarding gender differences during the period between 2014 and 2024. The analysis focuses on the dynamics and structural changes in employment and unemployment among women and men, the effects of the demographic crisis, and the reasons underlying the disparities in these indicators between the two genders. A specific focus is placed on the consequences of the uneven representation of men and women in the labour market on their social and economic status. Official data from the National Statistical Institute (NSI) and administrative data from the National Social Security Institute (NSSI) and the Employment Agency are used to track economic activity rates and the distribution of employment by sectors.
