Summary/Abstract: Local authorities are a natural partner of social entrepreneurs, as there are intersections between them in terms of social problems and social development. In addition, local government bodies can enter into the role of creators of social enterprises. The motivation of local authorities’ representatives is rooted in their responsibilities, as well as their proximity to the people in the community. In this sense, the purpose of the publication is to examine the meaning and activity of institutions at the regional level and their contribution to the development of social entrepreneurship.
