Summary/Abstract: Saint Dumitru Stăniloae, the confessor priest and the greatest Orthodox theologian of the 20th century, is a theologian of love and a theologian who, in almost all of his work, insists on the communion between man and Christ God, as well as on the purpose of this communion, which is the knowledge of God. Christ becomes the center of man’s life and the reconciler between man and God, through the communion that is realised between Christ and man seeking truth. The communion between Christ and man becomes a close bond, which reveals the closeness of Christ to man and the ever-increasing tendency of man to unite with the beloved Christ. In this communion, a spiritual and gnoseological intimacy is created, which allows man, through Christ the Lord, to know God to the extent that God reveals Himself to man according to his understanding. Considering these teachings in the theology of the Holy Priest Confessor Dumitru Stăniloae, we believe that they can become a role model for Orthodox Christians of the 21st century.
