Summary/Abstract: Your Eminence, Metropolitan Teofan, Mr. Rector, Your Grace, Reverend Fathers, distinguished guests and participants in the “Dumitru Stăniloae” International Symposium, esteemed members of the academic community of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University of Iași, dear colleagues, dear students from Iași and Chișinău, distinguished audience, Christ is risen!Although I have greeted you for the second time with “Christ is risen!”, I would like to begin by publicly expressing the emotions I feel at this moment, as we are gathered for a symposium with a long-standing tradition, marking an important occasion in the life of our Faculty of Theology.First of all, allow me to welcome everyone present here in the hall, as well as those joining us online, since I am firmly convinced that both the professors and the students of our Faculty’s branch in Chișinău are also taking part. At the same time, I would like to welcome all the participants in this symposium, whether attending in person or following us online, now or at a later time. We are gathered for the 12th Edition of the “Dumitru Stăniloae” International Symposium, organised, as always, by the “Saint Dumitru Stăniloae” Faculty of Orthodox Theology, in partnership with the Archdiocese of Iași, with the support, of course, of “Alexandru Ioan Cuza” University, our alma mater, and the Iași City Hall.Today, I stand before you in a threefold capacity: as host of this event, as a representative of the Scientific Committee and the Organising Committee, and, at the same time, as moderator of this opening ceremony.
