Summary/Abstract: The article presents the paintings of Maria Mencwel from the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw, which consist of four works created using the oil on canvas technique. The presented paintings – 'Studium wspomnienia piachu', 'White band disease', 'Strategie przetrwania', and 'Opłakiwanie' – focus on raw, solitary objects and are kept in muted earth tones. Each piece is accompanied by a brief commentary by the artist, which addresses themes of tenderness toward objects, anxiety, mourning, and deep inter-plant and inter-object relationships in the face of the approaching end.
