Summary/Abstract: Thе paper examines the economic consequences and trade flows in Bulgaria in the context of Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 on deforestation-free products (EUDR). The study is based on data from Eurostat’s Comext database for the period 2002–2024, covering over 104,000 records for Bulgaria. The results show that the total value of imports of affected goods amounts to over 75.3 billion euros for the period under consideration, with 54% of this volume consisting of wood and its derivatives. The analysis highlights the significant administrative burden that lies ahead for Bulgarian businesses. The study is motivated by the fact that there are numerous scholarly publications analyzing the positions of other countries, but not Bulgaria.
