Summary/Abstract: The report examines the strategic approaches for the sustainable development of insurance brokers in Bulgaria under the conditions of European competition. The main objective is to analyse the dynamics of the sector between 2007 and 2024 and to assess the impact of EU membership on the brokers’ sustainability, competitiveness, and market integration. Using economic-statistical and comparative analysis based on data from the Financial Supervision Commission (FSC), EIOPA, and Insurance Europe, the study evaluates key indicators such as the number of brokers, the volume of mediated premiums, market share, and comparison with EU averages. The results confirm a steady growth and increasing adaptation of Bulgarian insurance brokers to the European regulatory and competitive framework. Strategic management, digitalisation, and professional capacity-building emerge as essential factors for strengthening the sustainability and integration of brokers within the European single market.
