Summary/Abstract: The study builds an analytical framework for bank financing of environmental security through a systematization and comparative analysis of thirteen contemporary methodological approaches. The theoretical foundations and practical implications are examined with regards to ESG integration; the risk-based approach; sustainability finance; the EU taxonomy; the impact-based approach; blended finance; natural capital accounting; science-based climate targets; green/climate bond principles; dual materiality; geospatial and scenario risk analysis; responsible governance and engagement; circular economy. The study highlights that the banking sector is not a financial intermediary only – it is also a key architect of the green transition. The presented framework for bank financing of environmental security– methodological approaches, channels, mechanisms and instruments – provides theoretical clarity and practical applicability for directing capital flows towards environmental security.
