Summary/Abstract: This study examines the use of a hybrid model in the context of business development companies (BDCs) on the American Stock Exchange. The purpose of the analysis is to compare the returns over a 10-year period of two investment approaches: 1) a hybrid model consisting of a strategy using fundamental and technical criteria; 2) a standard dividend strategy, in which an asset is purchased, its dividends are reinvested, thereby increasing the value of the portfolio. The paper presents a data set that includes historical prices, dividend information and widely used technical indicators. In addition, a comparative analysis is made between the hybrid model and the dividend model, assessing their effectiveness in terms of return and risk. The findings highlight the potential benefits of using hybrid models for trading in the dynamic financial world. In conclusion, this study contributes to the extremely rapidly developing field of financial modeling by validating a hybrid trading approach tailored to the business development company market. The results highlight the importance of integrating advanced analytical techniques in developing effective trading strategies, ultimately paving the way for more informed and profitable investment decisions.
