Summary/Abstract: This article aims to emphasize the interest in technology offers and importance of technology offers at universities for enhancement of constructive partnerships between academia and business. Recognizing the universities as a space of knowledge and discoveries the activities related to technology transfer are driving forces for future innovations. Universities are place for talents and development of the most promising ideas and technologies that can change life and contribute for society wellbeing. In this context universities’ technology transfer has potential to lead important trends in forward looking academia-business collaboration and deployment of innovations. The summarized data encompass a wide spectrum of sources covering 29 countries and facilitates establishment of vision for international trends, effectiveness, and best practices, motivating for better impact, promotion of inventions of researchers, and further activities in particular in Bulgaria. The empirical data from carried out research, show high interest in information about the technology offers available at the universities and the technology transfer offices (TTOs), interest in more information about the activities of the TTOs, etc. The paper contributes for establishment of understanding that valuing and communicating technology offers will facilitate the interactions with business operators, and is a precondition for opening opportunities for technology transfer. Supplementary, highlights the importance of the new way to think about the potential of research discoveries and unlocking significant value from universities’ underutilized intellectual property as a catalyst which is dominantly management topic in the economic domain and requires cross-sectoral collaboration. Further research in this domain, including systematically mapping opportunities, models for measurement of effectiveness of the technology transfer at universities, competence frameworks for management purposes could be useful for this complex ecosystem with diverse interrelationships.
