Summary/Abstract: The present study examines management practices in Bulgarian startup companies and their role in the process of transforming an innovative idea into a sustainable and competitive business. Startups are a key driver for the country's economic development, technological progress, and job creation. Within the scope of the research, the main stages of startup development are analysed – from generating a business idea, through team formation and securing funding, to market entry and scaling operations. Special attention is given to management approaches, entrepreneurial thinking, and the role of leadership in the dynamic startup environment. Additionally, the challenges faced by Bulgarian startups are discussed. The conclusions emphasize the importance of flexible management, adaptability, and an innovative approach as key factors for turning startups into sustainable businesses with long-term growth potential.
