Summary/Abstract: This study examines the integration of circular economy principles into Bulgarian business, with a focus on the key challenges and opportunities associated with implementing this model. The relevance of the topic stems from the need to address a range of economic and environmental issues related to the efficient use of resources, the depletion of critical raw materials, and excessive pollution resulting from the established linear economic model – “take, make, dispose.” The aim of the study is to investigate Bulgarian enterprises that have adopted circular economy principles and to analyze the challenges and opportunities they face in the country. The research combines a theoretical analysis with an empirical approach, based on an in-depth study of alternative business models in this field within the European Union conducted during the period 2019–2024. The results show that an increasing number of companies in Bulgaria recognize the potential of the circular economy to enhance competitiveness and strengthen corporate reputation, while simultaneously facing a range of challenges that hinder its effective implementation.
