Summary/Abstract: The concept of the “Silver Economy” should not be reduced solely to extracting benefits from the demographic situation through intensive investments in sectors related to ageing. Behind its idea lies the understanding that far-sighted anticipation, planning, and active actions on the upcoming social and socio-economic transformations related to ageing and the increase in the share of elderly people in the total population of the country will ensure that longevity is synonymous with quality of life. However, is it possible to achieve this goal, and what are the obstacles to implementing the concept in our country?
