Summary/Abstract: At first glance, mathematics and magic have nothing in common, could be considered quite opposite fields. Mathematics are governed by strict rules, logic and demonstrations, whereas magic is dominated by mystery and illusion. Going beyond appearances, many magic tricks, especially those involving playing cards, are based on solid mathematical principles: modular arithmetic, probability, permutations, and symmetries. This article explores the connections between mathematics and magic, showing how scientific rigor can become artistic spectacle and how illusion can facilitate the understanding of mathematical concepts. Moreover, we accentuate the pedagogical value of mathematics in magic, resulting in enhancing students’ interest in studying mathematics and logical reasoning.
