Summary/Abstract: Intercultural education has become a central dimension of contemporary pedagogical discourse, responding to the growing interconnectedness of societies in the twenty-first century. It emphasizes the recognition, appreciation, and integration of cultural diversity within educational contexts, aiming to promote mutual respect, democratic values, and social cohesion. As globalisation reshapes social structures, schools are expected not only to transmit knowledge but also to cultivate learners’ capacity to interact constructively across cultural boundaries. In this context, the so-called “new educations” highlight transversal and future-oriented dimensions of learning, such as education for sustainable development, digital literacy, citizenship, peace, and human rights. These perspectives broaden the scope of traditional schooling by addressing global challenges that require holistic, inclusive, and participatory approaches.
