Summary/Abstract: Autonomy and self-care skills are fundamental for children’s social and educational integration, especially for those with special educational needs (SEN). Developing these abilities helps reduce dependence on adults, increases self-confidence, and facilitates active participation in daily life. Effective strategies include modelling, task analysis learning, positive reinforcement, and the use of visual or digital resources. Collaboration between families, teaching institutions, and specialists is essential to ensure consistent support across different environments. Ultimately, promoting autonomy in children with SEN is not only an educational goal but also a social and moral responsibility, preparing them for independent and dignified adult life.
