Summary/Abstract: The article aims to highlight the importance of intentionally integrating the emotional dimension into the teaching and learning process of the Romanian language in primary education, by capitalizing on the content of school textbooks. Starting from the role of linguistic and literary education in shaping the pupil’s personality, the study argues for the need of a coherent system of exercises designed to stimulate empathy, emotional self-regulation, self-awareness, and socio-emotional skills. Thus, the paper proposes a methodological model based on representative texts from fourth-grade textbooks and on interactive activities that foster reflection on emotions, assertive communication, and affective language expression.
