Summary/Abstract: The article examines the concept of emotional discipline within the context of primary education, arguing for the necessity of clarifying its terminology in relation to connected notions such as emotional self-regulation, emotional competence, and socio-emotional development. The analysis of the normative and curricular documents of the Republic of Moldova highlights the integration of the emotional dimension into educational policies and the importance of creating a psychologically safe climate for pupils. The specialized literature shows that emotional discipline goes beyond the traditional paradigm of behavioral control, being oriented toward the recognition, expression, and adequate management of emotions. The article presents the contributions of representative authors who conceptualize emotional discipline as a process of developing self-control, personal responsibility, and prosocial behaviors, closely linked to the influences of the educational environment and the role of the teacher. The study outlines a coherent theoretical framework for understanding emotional discipline as an essential dimension of socio-emotional formation in primary education.
