Summary/Abstract: The study takes into account Polish and Italian idioms that show similarities in terms of semantics, lexical identity, grammatical model, and stylistic value. Idioms in both languages are presented, along with their definitions and examples of use. The similarity of idioms in different languages is an extremely interesting phenomenon, especially in light of the widely accepted thesis that idioms are untranslatable into other languages. However, research on these expressions indicates that cultures that are close to each other have produced similar linguistic expressions.
