Summary/Abstract: Fire protection represents an essential requirement in the development of the built environment, particularly in the context of using ecological thermal insulation materials. Sheep wool–based products are increasingly used in construction; however, their fire reaction behavior requires thorough evaluation. The purpose of this study was to determine the fire reaction performance of sheep wool thermal insulation products using standardized testing methods in accordance with European requirements. The tests were carried out at the INCERC Bucharest, according to the SR EN 13501-1:2019 classification standard, including ignitability, non-combustibility, and calorific potential tests. The results highlighted the influence of density and composition on fire behavior, with higher-density products showing reduced ignitability and self-extinguishing capacity. The analyzed products demonstrated adequate performance for safe use in construction applications when appropriate fire protection measures are applied.
