Summary/Abstract: The study examines the necessity of organizing practical wine tasting courses in the education of sommelier students, based on a survey conducted among students from the College of Tourism – Varna. The results indicate a marked interest in wine, particularly in tasting practices and food pairings. Students recognize that a successful sommelier must combine theoretical knowledge with practical skills and understand the need for an integrated and interdisciplinary approach in their education. Their preferences for practically oriented courses, including tasting techniques and wine-food pairings, suggest active application of practical methods. In conclusion, the importance of multidisciplinary training is emphasized, combining the acquisition of sensory techniques, wine theory, and communication skills. This will not only enhance their wine culture but also meet professional expectations and contemporary trends in the sector.
