Summary/Abstract: This paper aims to define the concept of “small-scale literary spaces” in the context of the tourism sector. Beyond the attempt to formulate a working definition, the article analyzes their characteristics and tourism potential. This is done by adapting established theoretical frameworks such as the “geography of images,” “places of meaning“, “meaningful travel”, transformative travel, and the “experience economy.” The article proposes a new perspective on an alternative form of tourism, which we refer to as “tourism of meaning.” Examples of good practices in the utilization of small-scale literary spaces as tourism resources are presented. These spaces are further situated within the broader hierarchy of cultural tourism and its branches, including literary, memorial, educational tourism, and others.
