Summary/Abstract: The active development of cooperatives requires the study of the practices specific to the cooperative business model. Their management bodies should manage the cooperative and at the same time act in accordance with the values and principles of the International Cooperative Alliance, actively engage and maintain close relations with their members and encourage the active participation of members in its management. The present study highlights the specifics of the cooperative business model, as a first step towards the evaluation of corporate governance (CG) in cooperatives.
