New Knowledge Based on Economic Development and Policies

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses contemporary knowledge driven economic development based on the creation, absorption and use of new knowledge, as well as the policies pursued. By applying Hegel's theoretical and methodological approach to economic development, the need for a change in the model of Governmental policy for innovation is proven on the example of Bulgaria. It is proposed that the state forms and coordinates the strategy for knowledge-based development, stimulating the renewal of enterprises not only through the supply - directing public funds for renewal to the business sector, but also by supporting the demand – domestic and foreign for new products and services, the production of which is nationally based and / or included in global and regional supply chains.
