Summary/Abstract: This paper examines the role of artificial intelligence as a catalyst for sustainable regional development in the context of Industry 5.0, with a special focus on the digitalization of the public sector and the transformation of regional policies. It outlines three key areas: 1) methodologies for digitalization and efficiency in the public sector, 2) the role of the human as an expert and active factor in creating innovations, and 3) the relationship between regional policies, sustainability and the transition to Industry 5.0. On this basis, a conceptual methodological framework is proposed for integrating AI-infrastructure to improve resource efficiency, digitalize the public sector and develop more flexible management practices in the context of Industry 5.0, which requires synergy between technology, ethical human-centricity and environmental and economic sustainability.
