Summary/Abstract: In the history of the Romanian people we also find pages splashed with the blood of Romanian soldiers, soldiers called to defend the national being with their swords in their hands. In order not to fall prey to despair and in order for military actions to be successfully completed, the Romanian Orthodox Church sent alongside the country's soldiers a series of military priests with a clearly defined mission, that of taking care of the souls of the soldiers. Thus, in World War I and World War II we find numerous military priests who showed great courage and devotion, confessing to everyone their faith in God and in the national cause. World War II brings something extra to the mission of the military clergy, because stepping into the territories controlled until recently by the Red Army, they did a real apostolic work, reopening the churches closed by the Bolsheviks, rebuilding the demolished ones and baptizing the unbaptized. Thus, the military priests together with the Romanian army re-Christianized the territories, led the people from suffering to victory.
