Summary/Abstract: There is nothing, except how we speak, which characterises and represents more our nature and personality, our degree of culture and education, our gestures and inclinations. Uttering a word, be it good or bad, triggers consequences that are commensurate with the charge it carries. The echo of a word in the moral universe is unlimited. Words, spoken or written, pass from one soul to another, from father to son, from one generation to another, from one people to another, from one age to another, building up or tearing down, strengthening or weakening, uniting or alienating, bearing witness to good or evil, according to the good or evil of the man who spoke it. The word is a precious gift with which his Creator has endowed man, for it is the most effective means of expressing thoughts and feelings. Through language, man can give clear expression to logical thought, to the highest feelings, to the will to action, to the noblest ideas and passions. Without words, without reason, man could neither express himself, nor arrive at his own convictions, nor convince others, since we think through language.
