Summary/Abstract: The way in which individuals in society exchange goods also determines the development of the respective society. From the time of barter in kind, through the medieval and coinage eras, through the years of industrialization and the birth of the financial sector, human progress has always been associated with commercial transactions. They are the primary mechanism by which producers of goods and services realize their potential. Today, the Internet is changing the order of transactions in a significant and irreversible way – a process that will lead the world to an entirely new stage in its economic development. This report aims to present the interaction between consumer protection and data protection in the digital economy. The responsibility of online platforms regarding the provision of digital content and digital services is examined.
